Richmond’s first comprehensively-planned community, Windsor Farms displays shaded, tree-lined streets and a harmonious blend of picturesque Tudor and Colonial style residences.  Windsor Farms began taking shape during the mid-1920s under the vision of Agecroft’s owner T.C. Williams, Jr.  Mr. Williams envisioned a planned community modeled after an English country village, which offered all of the amenities of modern city living.  As the community developed, it became a showcase for both Tudor and Colonial style homes, featuring two imported English manor houses and grand Colonial Revival mansions by noted architect William Lawrence Bottomley.  Join us for a tour which highlights the history and architecture of one of Richmond’s most elegant neighborhoods.

Advance registration NOT required.  In the event of inclement weather, the tour will be cancelled.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

The Richmond Renaissance Dancers will present their multimedia program “The Dancing Queen: Court Dance in the Age of Elizabeth” at Agecroft Hall on Friday, November 11, at 7:00 p.m.  The program presents the majesty and elegance of court dancing from the perspective of Queen Elizabeth I and her courtiers. English almans and country dances, French branles, and Italian balli and cascarde were all part of the Elizabethan court repertoire. The Queen’s court will come alive once more through demonstrations of these late 16th century dances by the costumed Richmond Renaissance Dancers. Queen Elizabeth portrayer Linda Macdonald will also provide informative narrative and historical background, all within the beautiful surroundings of Agecroft Hall.

Sometimes when autumn wanes and year’s end beckons, a scarecrow, alone with his crows, comes to life and has an adventure or two or three.  Storyteller Pamela Bomboy returns to Agecroft to share tales of spirited scarecrows, their escapades, and their friends.  All ages welcome.

The King, during the course of the 'audience', will recount the events of his long reign; telling of his wives and his children, and, at the conclusion of the ‘audience’, His Majesty will invite his Loyal subjects to ‘Petition’ him, to ask a question of him- on ANY related subject- there may be some surprising answers!
