If the only Australian song you know is Waltzing Matilda, then this is the concert you’ll want to attend.  The Richmond Concert Band will be presenting various Australian folk songs, pop songs and patriotic tunes -- all music originally written by and performed by Australians.  Some of the songs you’ll hear are Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport; I Am Woman (Helen Reddy); Georgy Girl (The Seekers); I Honestly Love You (Olivia Newton-John); I Am Australian (The Seekers) and Waltzing Matilda.  The concert will begin with the Australian National Anthem, Advance Australia Fair

Join the Richmond Concert Band on the grounds of Agecroft Hall on Sunday, September 24 starting at 5:30 pm. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and maybe a picnic.  Together we’ll take a musical visit to Australia: The Land Down Under.  And the best part is, this is all free.

For more information on the concert, you can contact the Richmond Concert Band at (804) 737-3767.
